Power steering

Your power steering fluid gets dirty and breaks down over time like motor oil. Power steering fluid should be flushed in accordance with your manufacturer’s recommendation or every 30,000 miles. Clean fluid will allow for longer life of your power steering pump and rack and pinion steering.

Wheel Alignment

Your wheel alignment should be checked at least once per year. Proper wheel alignment will promote perfect, even tire wear, improve handling of your vehicle and improve fuel economy. If your vehicle drifts or pulls to the right or left or if your steering wheel is not centered you should bring it in to Fast Tire for a wheel alignment check. We use state of the art Hunter wheel alignment equipment. Our Alignments are guaranteed and your vehicle will drive nice and straight when you leave our store.

Cabin air filter

Your cabin air filter is often located inside of the vehicle under the dash. We have changed cabin filters that rodents have set up their living quarters in it. Breath nice clean fresh air, have Fast Tire change that filter at least once per year.

Timing belt

Your timing belt must be changed in accordance with your manufacturer’s recommendation. The belt keeps proper time of the top and bottom half of the motor. Valves open and pistons go up and down at precise timing which is kept by the timing belt. If this belt breaks internal engine parts smash into one another causing serious internal damage. Get your timing belt changed at Fast Tire and save yourself considerable headaches and cost.

Differential service

Check your owner’s manual to find if you have a differential. Differential fluid gets dirty and breaks down when not changed. It can also become contaminated. Often contamination occurs when the vehicle is driven through high standing water. Another instance is if you tow a boat. When the boat is launched often the differential is submerged in water. When water gets into the differential fluid it dilutes it and foaming occurs during driving. Foaming eliminates the fluids ability to lubricate. Some differential fluids have additives for the clutch inside of your differential. This additive breaks down. A symptom of this would be a grabbing or rubbing type feeling when turning. The noise would be primarily in the rear end. It would be most pronounced when backing up and having the wheels turned almost all the way right or left. When driving around in a circle the inside wheel is turning at a slower rate than the outside wheel. This explains the differentials job, it compensates for the difference. In order to do so it requires lubrication. Have your differential serviced at Fast Tire.

Air conditioning service

Your Freon may leak over time. When levels get low the air conditioning compressor will not operate. This is a safety feature built in so you do not burn the compressor out when Freon is low. Freon has oil in it when put into your system which continues to lubricate your compressor. The compressor is what moves the Freon through your air conditioning system. There are many components of an air condition system. Bring your vehicle to Fast Tire for our A/C performance check. We will tell you what is needed to get your air conditioning up and running again. Maybe it blows cool but not cold. In this case it usually means a small shot of Freon will get you going.
